Infrared photography is a method of of photography that can be used by just about anyone with a camera. IR is old way to explore the new unseen world. The reason it's unseen is because infrared light can't actually be seen by the human eye. IR falls just short of the visible spectrum which is why we cant see it. Everything reflects IR light but not in a visible way but once seen through a filter or edited in photoshop it makes things like green grass and trees instead showing up white.
My Infrared photos all follow the theme of low shots of nature.
My first photo you see below is a worms eye view of the leafs and grass. It almost gives the perspective of everything being really big, with the infrared it also looks as if the leafs have frost on them.
Before and After
My second picture of the three is of a log that has fallen over top of a ditch. You can see that there is nails in the log and water below these both give a distance perspective of how high up it is and how long the log is.
Before and After
My last picture is another low shot of the forrest but there is box with graffiti on not only does this add a cool bright effect when infrared it also sets it self apart from the rest of the forrest. This is by far my favourite of the three the graffiti proved to give this photo great perspective.
